Wednesday’s Presidential address to a joint session of congress was interrupted by an unusual shout by Rep Joe Wilson. When Obama stated that illegal aliens would not be given coverage under Obamacare, Joe shouted, “You lie!!” The following day, under pressure from the party leadership he called the White House and apologized for his lack of civility. The following is a post from an unknown author that describes him/her self as “a student of history.” This has been circulating around the internet for months and wrongly attributed to a well-known historian from the Naval War College. It compares modern events to pre-war Germany and asks questions that I too have asked in recent years. Click on the title and read it and form your own conclusions.

This is a letter written by Mr Gerald Vanderbuilt to President Barrak Obama, reprinted here by permission of the author:

“Dear Mr. Obama,
The news of late regarding your push to have citizens report directly to the White House anything they see as “fishy” regarding what is being said about you and your healthcare bill is extremely disturbing. However, this is only the latest of the outrages we have seen coming out of your administration in the short time you have been in office. . . . . . . . ”

Many have made a sigh of relief at Obama’s dropping of the “Government Option” for the health care bill. That sigh is very premature. The Democrats are in a current state of disarray, but they are still working toward the same goal of “universal healthcare” that would be a disaster to our country. [...]

Today the Obama Healthcare Express is rushing headlong into oblivion with no concern for the devastation to ensue. Obama is joined by Nancy Peloci, Barney Frank, Frank Schumer, and others who are currently attempting to marganilize anyone who disagrees with their “Rube Goldberg” plans.

The blatant hypocrisy of the US news media and a huge number of members of the American public in recent years is truly unbelievable. Over the past eight years there have been numerous examples of “Bush bashing” that have been extreme by any rational calculations. George W Bush is not my personal favorite president of a lifetime, but the extremes I see are truly hard to understand. How can you reconcile the vile venom that has been spewed on the last president with the fawning treatment of the current one?
