Fishing, camping, scuba diving, hunting, or just relaxing around the water are all fabulous activities at beautiful Lake Ouachita. For non-campers there are lots of places to stay nearby in Hot Springs and surrounding communities. You can enjoy the lake as well as the many other tourist attractions in the Hot Springs area. |

There are lots of water activities that are popular around Lake Ouachita. The beautiful clear waters are ideal for swimming, water skiing, tubing and cruising along the myriad of islands and coves. Typical summer water temperatures run from the mid 70s in May and October to the low 90s in August.Fishing is great and the lake hosts numerous Bass tournaments anually. In addition to bass the lake produces lots of stripers, crappie, blue gill, red-ears, catfish and walleye. To see more about beautiful Lake Ouachita click on this link . |

You can also pick them up at the Scuba and Archery Center in Hot Springs year round. If you are not yet certified, contact the Scuba and Archery center for the next Open Water dive classes. Open Water Classes are done in the lake from May thru September each year. Winter time classes begin in Feburary for the classroom and pool work with the Open Water portion then completed in May as waters in the lake warm. 2008 prices for standard two week open water classes are $185 with the special three day classes $235.
